Previous partner of the 2018 EUEW Business Convention, TRILUX is returning as Social Events Partner of the 2023 EUEW Business Convention and sharing with us their interest in this collaboration.

TRILUX is returning as a partner of the EUEW Business Convention after the previous collaboration in Bonn. Why is it important for TRILUX to continue as supporter of this major industry event?

Internationally, we are primarily known and appreciated for our project business with high-quality lighting solutions. Wholesale business is a central pillar of our multi-channel sales strategy. As a full-service provider, we offer a customised trade portfolio for the OTC business: Our twenty3 portfolio combines high quality with an attractive price. With our engagement at the EUEW Business Convention, we want to strengthen our relationships into the market and with our customers and partners. In doing so, we want to raise awareness of our competencies in the areas of digitalisation, sustainability, and marketing, as well as in the project and warehouse business.

This year’s general convention theme is “Energize transition: a key role for the electrical wholesalers” focusing on translating the very important role of electrical wholesalers in the energy transition. Does TRILUX consider energy transition as having an important impact on its future actions? How important is it for TRILUX to become increasingly more sustainable in general?

Energy consumption for artificial lighting generates around 50 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year. With our market-leading LED refurbishment solutions, this energy consumption can be significantly reduced. Savings of up to 85 percent are possible with efficient LED solutions with light management, compared to an unregulated conventional solution. This is why we are actively driving the LED transformation with a broadly diversified, highly efficient solution portfolio for every industry, every application area and every budget – and thus make an important contribution to the rapid reduction of energy consumption in general, especially with our custom-fit refurbishment solutions.

An excellent example is the 2325 downlight, the first luminaire from our twenty3 wholesale portfolio with a verified CO2 compensation. It not only helps companies to reduce their CO2 emissions to a maximum through its high efficiency. Nature and the environment also benefit from climate-protecting processes in production, administration and transport. And that’s just a small component in our sustainability strategy. As pioneers in sustainability, we have set ourselves the goal of being a role model at all levels within the company. This starts with responsible sourcing with fair and sustainable supply chains, through economical and resource-saving production, and extends to the washrooms, where we have established sustainable paper recycling. Our goal: CO2-neutrality in 2025!

The first 100 registrations for this year’s convention were received within just one week of opening registrations. EUEW was very pleasantly surprised by the interest the EUEW Convention is gaining in the industry as well as in its wider ecosystem. What do you expect will be the main takeaways for TRILUX with the participation in this year’s EUEW Business Convention?

The key takeaways are of course relationships, networking, and insights to the market. The EUEW Business Convention is an excellent opportunity to better understand the wants and needs, potentials and pain points of wholesalers. What role do digitalisation and sustainability play in the OTC business? What will wholesale look like in 2030? Will customers still demand lighting as an individual project element or craft, or will they use electrical wholesale as an overall provider? The close exchange with customers and partners helps us to align our offering even better to the needs of wholesalers – and thus to become even more visible and successful in international business.
